Zoom talk Wednesday 2nd February at 8pm. “Gardening to Save Time”
Our speaker this month is Ben Pope who is the Head Gardener at a private estate in West Sussex.
His role includes caring for a large walled kitchen garden, herbaceous borders, shrubberies, topiary, ornamental lawns, a floral meadow, water features, woodland and hedges. Ben’s team propagate, grow and store fruit, vegetables and cut flowers for the house, whilst maintaining the garden to a very high standard. …. and in his spare time, he looks after the onsite apiary.
So with all this he needs to know how to do it all efficiently and will give members tips on how to do the same in their own gardens.
Ben is also a lecturer at The Chelsea Physic Garden and at West Dean College.
This will be the last of our talks on Zoom for the foreseeable future as we will be returning to the Memorial Hall from March for our meetings 👏👏
If you would like to Zoom into this talk and enquire about joining, membership is jut £10 a year, please email whortsoc@gmail.com for full details.
